Shelley, I’d like to hear your comments comparing your Trike with your Lectric JW long range. I’m thinking of going from my 3.0 XP long range to a Trike. I want a bicycle that goes 5 mph, which the 3.0 XP doesn’t like to go slower than 8 mph and then you still can’t sightsee and travel forward. I’m hoping the Trick allows me to look around SOME, plus stop, and look but NOT get off the bike. Yes ?

Can you email me back?

R

I’ve put a total of 50 miles on it, and it will be donated to a local charity to help them move things from one building to another. While I’m glad it works so well for so many, it really doesn’t like small town roads. To begin with, to leave my driveway, there is a pretty good crown on the road for drainage, so I have to charge for the far side of the street to find even ground. Then there are the potholes and deep drainage gutters. I tried to add the pup cart and that was even more of a negotiation nightmare for me. This is a small town, not a housing development, so the roads are maintained as best they can, but it is far from even ground. Adding to it, I live in the hilly part of town and a couple of streets have substantial grades. Again, I’m thrilled it works for so many people, but these are considerations I wish I had taken into account. I hope others in similar situations will take them into account and save themselves frustration. I do look forward to my Lectric JW Black Long Range, which should negotiate the obstacles that doomed my experience with the XP Trike.

Had few opportunities to ride it with winter closing in here in Wisconsin. Was able to put on about 30 miles before the end of 2023. Most of my trike usage has been without pedal assist. Overall I like the Trike. If I were to make any recommendations on improvements, I’d start with the battery. A top built in handle would be a nice feature. As for the throttle, I’d recommend having a locking device incorporated into the throttle so as not to have grip the throttle and end up with a sore hand from holding the throttle back to maintain the speed. A simple push button type of control would do the trick. As of yesterday, I have a total of over 300 miles on my trike. Sometimes I wish that I had a bit more power for the straight aways. I understand that safty is a big part of the way they constructed the Trike for us seniors but not all of us should be constricted and there should be some allowances given to the purchasers. I look forward to having a great summer with my Trike .

I got caught in the rain on my commute and the display panel failed. Lectric sent replacement right away. The only grumble I have is not a brand issue but an overall ebike complaint. Water resistant is not something to shortcut in most climate areas for people trying to migrate to ebikes for daily commute. I’d have gladly spent more for fully waterproof. The Lectric XP Trike is a nice ride. Maxes out at 12MPH and I get 10 round trips per charge on the battery. ~30 miles. Charging it once per week isnt an issue, range seems to match what the manual an web site state very closely. I’m considering getting a second battery just to have it for longer pleasure rides. Build quality is high, weight is high but the folding function is nice. Tires are right sized for the build. Good quality all around. as I’m in my 60s and working nights he standard equipment with front and rear lights is a huge plus. The cargo package add on rear basket and front rack as a nice addition, Comfort package with suspension post seat exceeds expectation for ride comfort. My ride is mostly smooth on the commute root incursion is an issue in my area, this handles it all pretty well and safely, I’d like to be able to take the trike to a full blown class 3 ride like Lectrics 2 wheel models get on the 3.0 lineup but it’s not a deal breaker for my needs, I’m just being a bit picky as I do run late some days and the extra speed would be nice. Anyone looking at an ebike should consider Lectric as a brand. Great value products and a completely faire price to feature point. I don’t regret my choice and can say it is the best option vs converting from conventional to ebike, especially on trikes. Lectric’s implementation is unique to them and is very smooth and stable. I feel good about the purchase and look forward to a long trouble free ongoing experience from the brand.

It has been proven over and over again. There is a reason there are no mass-production motorized vehicles like this. They are inherently unstable due to there design.

There are expensive low powered recumbent trikes, All sit too low for use on the road (visibility and exhaust fumes in city bike lanes) yet, Almost solve the problem of roll-over on turns. All other trikes are under powered due to the fact they sit WAY too high and are very tippy.
This one looks like some thought went into it, But turns will be a problem.
Trike needs a design where the rider sits low between the rear wheels, Yet in an upright position !!! Therefore allowing better cornering without tipping over.
The alternative is to have a powerful single fat tire motor in the rear and have the two wheels in the front that tilt into the turn, Just like a bicycle.
That I would like to see, !!

What about rear brakes on both sides. Where can I test one of these? I am presently in Pasadena, CA.
