I just wanted to know. In your review you stated the Revv 1 FS can hold up to 400 pounds. Yet on the Ride1Up website, it says 350. I’m confused. I myself weigh 370.

Hi Jenna, a cargo bike would probably be best for you! We have a list of our favorite cargo e-bikes here. Any of the full-size cargo bikes will be able to carry the three of you, and we recommend either seat pads, footboards, and handrails for the cargo racks or individual child seats.

We have twins and I would love to know which bike and accessories would be best to carry all of us. I am 280lbs and both my boys now would be another 60 lbs total.

I’m at almost 1900km ridden over the last two summers and no problems to report.
The battery is only good for about 40-45km at 320lbs, we’ll short of the 60miles advertised but it does the job getting me home on a recharge.

They must have given it an update after we tested it! I think most folks will like the extra power, but that’s a bummer about the rebate.

I am looking at the site and it is advertised as 1000W disqualifying it from my local rebate program.

We don’t have a way to test torque, but we noticed a huge improvement over some of Rad’s previous bikes in our Hill Test. Many other bikes from other brands have a higher peak wattage (the Radster sticks to 750W) so that can also make a difference.

They are known for their indoor exercise bikes. This ebike doubles as an indoor exercise bike. Comes with the stand to turn it into such. Then as you pedal indoors it recharges the battery. They claim you’ll never need to plug it in to charge.

You’ve got it listed at 400 lbs, but Aventon had it at 350 lbs when we ordered. I’m at 280, it is holding up great. I almost never use the throttle, but often get an error message, so I disconnected it. I love my bike, but the couple times I’ve loaded it into the back of my truck, I’m realizing that I may need something lighter when we start our retirement traveling…which is why I found myself on your site this morning. After some searching, I’m thinking we will have to get a rack. Thanks for the info!

I treated it as total weight. I weigh 260 and bike weighs just under 70. The total is under with some margin for accessories. This plus 750W mid-drive motor was a major consideration in purchasing. At 1250 miles now and it feels very sturdy & powerful.

Hi Ken

This ebike looks a good pick – I can’t see a recommended weight limit on the spec at Voltbike website but it has many of the features good for heavier riders that the article outlines.
Hope that helps

Hi Jen

Thanks for reading and commenting. This is from the Brompton website:
‘We recommend that the weight of the rider, combined with any luggage should not exceed more than 110kgs (242 lbs, 17 stone).

The load on the front luggage carrier block should not be more than 10kg (22lbs, 1 stone).

Warranty on the bicycle frame and other components are invalid on loads that exceed those stated above.’

I just turned 78 yesterday and have ordered a Volt Yukon 750. I weigh in at 206lbs (lost 70 lbs) over last 3yrs. Cycled for 20 yrs when younger but haven’t in last 15, now with ebikes coming on strong thought was a good way to get some excercise and enjoyment. Thought this bike may be a good pick for me. Any comment. Just ordered and will be 6 wks away. Time to change if not right. Thanks, Ken.
