What Electric Bike Questions Do You Have?
I am working on a new project for Electric Bike Report and it will be a resource of electric bike information for you.
My goal is to make this a useful resource for you and I would like to know what you are most interested in when it comes to information on electric bikes.
Please let me know:
- What you want to know more about,
- What information has been hard to find, and
- What really interests you when it comes to electric bikes.
Here are some ideas to get your thoughts flowing:
- Ebike riding tips
- Ebike repair & maintenance tips
- Ebike reviews
- Ebike buying guide
- Understanding the different types of ebikes
- Ebike accessories
- Ebike laws
- Understanding Volts, Amps, Watts, etc.
- Building your own ebike
- Biking safety
- And ANYTHING else, please let me know
Your thoughts on this will help make this a great electric bike resource for you and other fellow ebikers.

Being a novice to the whole electric bike thing, I would want to know what are the main features to look for.
I am also wondering what the disadvantages might be to having a folding bike (are they hard to carry, is it a drag having smaller wheels, how do they fold, etc…)
When it comes to battery Voltage /amp hours, is bigger always better (as long as you’re under the legal limit for a bicycle)?
I would love a comparison of electric bike spec sheets. It’s hard opening each one individually. I would especially like to know which ones are the lightest.
I don’t quite understand the “TMM” torque measurement method systems vs “power-on-demand bike”.

I just got my ebike kit four months ago (a Clean Republic Hill Topper SLA), and couldn’t be happier. I use it everyday and it’s added so much more joy into my life. I guess what’s mostly on my mind now is how to generate awareness in my community. I’m convinced this could really catch on once people try it and use it for function, not just recreation.
My other question is what are the startup costs for opening an ebike shop? I think this could very well be my new dream job! : )

I have a tao tao tao 48 volt 500watt scooter it came with 10ah battery pack –
I wired in additional 24ah battery pack for additionall range. Worked great for awhile butt then one battery in each pack went bad. Hmmm.. Can you tell me what the actual correct wiring would be to intigrate two 48 volt battery packs?
Thank You

I have been researching electric mountain bikes that can climb a significant slope. I have researched many different brands. I actually like this little bike shop in California but I am concernd that they can actually stand behind their bikes. The name of the bike shop is Hi-Power Cycles. I am interested in anyone that has experience with purchasing from Hi-Power or any other serious electric mountain bikes.
Thanks

Hi Pete,
Unfortunately I don’t have any experience with that shop. Maybe somebody else will be able to give you their thoughts on this.
